A new Mac version (includes previous upgrades) automatically appears in Add Recorder options and in the Recorder Versions section of the Management Console. We recommend deploying a new version to a test device before deploying it across the network.
Overview
This release covers enhancements and Improvements for the following products and builds:
- Veriato Cerebral build 9.0.10621
Recording Updates (Browser, Chat, Email)
- Added full support for devices running on an Apple M1 chip (ARM-based processor). Installing Rosetta for Intel compatibility is no longer required. Requires Veriato Cerebral Server version 9.2.3.
- Added support for Monterey (Mac OS 12).
- Added support for Safari website recording on Big Sur M1.
Enhancements
- Email: When a new email account (Exchange, Apple Mail) is added following agent installation, emails received previously on the account will not be uploaded as recorded events.
- OS Name: The Recorder now returns the correct OS information for Big Sur and Monterey. Requires Veriato Cerebral Server version 9.2.3.
- Computer Name: The recorded device’s hostname is captured and returned consistently.
- Keystrokes: Records and returns additional keystroke data to simplify server processing, clarify keystroke counts, and improve foreign language support in the Management Console. Visible to customers with a future server update.
Improvements
- Email: Office 365, Outlook, and Exchange email events are now recorded correctly as email type EWS (Exchange Web Server), SMTP (outgoing), or IMAP (incoming), and not as Webmail.
- Email: Outlook email events now include the correct count of and upload of attachments, if requested.
- Email: Outlook sent email is no longer recorded multiple times.
- Email: Capture of Exchange emails in some environments no longer records both incoming and outgoing email as “Sent.”
- Policy Settings: Disabling “Program Activity” recording in the policy no longer disables the agent.
- Policy Settings: The “Enable Browser Extensions” policy setting is correctly applied in Safari.
- Policy Settings: The “Data Throttling” setting that controls a client’s send interval is now applied by Mac agents.
- Install: Improved bootstrap logs include additional client installation details.
- Install/Updates: A “Content Provider” popup message no longer appears following a Mac extension update.
- Communication: If client check-in initially fails, it will retry every 5 minutes if active or every 12 hours if inactive.
- Communication: The client check-in process no longer causes infrequent exceptions.
- Internal: SQLite-related code no longer causes infrequent exceptions.
- Internal: Improved performance on Catalina avoids crashing due to invalid memory access in a very specific scenario.
