Find your agent installation folder in the console app under Admin > Company Account, "Antivirus Exclusions. The folder is unique to your installation. Note this path for exclusions later in this guide.
- Open the McAfee control panel.
In the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, open up the system tray and right-click on the McAfee icon. - Select Open McAfee® Total Protection.
- Select the Settings gear icon in the upper-right.
From the Settings menu, under PC Security, double-click Real-Time Scanning. - Turn OFF real-time scanning.
Click the Turn Off button. - Select Never.
At the prompt “When do you want to resume Real-Time Scanning?” select Never.
Click Turn Off. (You will turn it on again as a last step.) - Download and install the Veriato Vision software.
Access your console app from the endpoint. Select Admin > Download Agents and download the Windows Installer. Double-click the installer file and run the installation.
IMPORTANT: When prompted to reboot the computer uncheck the box to select “no” so the computer does not reboot.
- Exclude files in Real-Time Scanning.
Before turning Real-Time Scanning back on, select the files in your randomized installation folder for exclusion. Go to the exclusions setting under the Real-Time Scanning settings, click on Add file, and go through ALL files in the installation folder. For example:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\yyyxxxx
Where yyyxxxx is the randomly named folder exclusive to your company.
- Navigate to and select each file.
You may not need to exclude every single file, however, the key ones so far that are identified by McAfee are as follows:
proxy.dll
svcboot_lohtldbvp.dll
shim_ddotfcgit.dll
ws_hixdptlbv.exe
shim64_sejiqvqhi.dll
dprx_pcdblqgph.dll
DLP_dyeeyfwje.dll
Director_jsdryjoor.dll
chromeplg.dll
ccp_gferbodmu.dll
asapdk_x86.dll
AES256.dll
Wvcore.dll
- Restart the computer to complete the setup.
When all exclusions have been entered, complete the agent installation by rebooting the computer. The main HUB for McAfee will advise the customer that there is a Trojan and that they should restart their computer for changes to take effect – restarting the computer will not affect the excluded files.
