As soon as a Sentinel One is installed on endpoints, it actively scans for threats. It is best to set up exclusions for endpoint agents BEFORE installing the agent.
NOTE: We cannot guarantee our instructions are compatible with your updated program. Always check the Help for your antivirus program if you have questions. Be sure to re-enable any firewalls or scanning you disable once the agent is installed.
- Find your company’s Veriato Vision installation folder.
- Open a browser and log in to your Veriato Vision account.
- Go to the Admin | Company Account page.
- Under Antivirus Exclusions note the folder or list of folders to exclude.
- Log in to the SentinelOne web console.
Select Sentinels from the side bar and the Exclusions tab. - Set up the new exclusion.
Select New Exclusion > Create Exclusion. - Select a Windows Certificate exclusion.
The exclusion will be based on a Certificate with a known Signer Identity. Select:
- Exclusion Type: Certificate
- OS: Windows
- Signer Identity: AWARENESS TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
IMPORTANT: Type in the Signer Identity EXACTLY as shown above: spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. If anything is wrong, the exclusion will not work. - Description: Client Request (or any description)
- Press Save and Add Another.
- Set a Mac Certificate exclusion:
- Exclusion Type: Certificate
- OS: Mac
- Enter this certificate exactly as it appears here:
<Type=DevID/ID=com.spsecure.useragent/Subject=OU:94L7REHXB6> - Description: Client Request (or any description)
- Press Save and Add Another.
- Exclude the following file paths for Windows Agents:
- Exclusion Type - Path
- Path - For the newer Windows Agent version 10.0.x exclude each of the following:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\winipdat
C:\Windows\System32\winipdat
C:\Windows\winipbin-install
C:\Windows\winipbin - Exclusion Mode: Suppress Alerts
- Description: (any description)
- Press Save to save the exclusion and return to the Exclusions list.
- Exclude the following file paths for Mac Agents:
- Exclusion Type - Path
- Path - For Mac Agent version version 10.0.x, exclude:
/private/tmp/A1Installer/
/MacClient.app/Contents/
/usr/local/sps - Exclusion Mode: Suppress Alerts
- Description: (any description)
- Press Save to save the exclusion and return to the Exclusions list.
- Download and install the Windows or Mac agent.
You should now be able to download and install the Veriato Agent without interference. In your Veriato Vision app, select Admin | Download Agents and the OS you wish to download. - Check for a successful installation.
Devices reporting in will appear in Admin | Endpoint Agents in the All list. Be sure to license new users in Configuration | Groups & Policies by adding them to a group or overriding the group with a policy. - Check for data uploaded.
After the user has logged in and a license is assigned, check All Users in the Veriato Vision app to make sure activity is being uploaded from the device.
