Overview
Veriato's Productivity Tracking feature lets you classify websites as productive, neutral, or unproductive for any policy. This helps ensure accurate productivity scores for monitored users. You can classify a single website manually or use a Custom Website Category to bulk-classify multiple sites at once.
Method 1: Classify a single website
Use this method when you need to classify one website for a specific policy.
- Go to Settings > Policies
- Select the policy you want to update
- Click the Websites tab
- Click Add Custom
- Enter the website URL (for example,
youtube.com) - Set the Productivity Classification to Productive, Neutral, or Unproductive
- Save your changes
Method 2: Bulk classify websites using a Custom Website Category (recommended)
Use this method when you need to classify multiple websites at once. This is the recommended approach for managing large lists of sites.
Step 1 — Create a Custom Website Category
- Go to Settings > Data Categories > Custom Websites
- Click New Category and give it a name and description (for example, Unproductive Sites)
- Inside your new category, click Add Website Pattern
- Add any the websites you want to categorize
- Save the category
Step 2 — Link the category to a policy
- Go to Settings > Policies
- Select the policy you want to update
- Click the Websites tab
- Click Choose Existing > Your Website Category
- Select your newly created category
- Click Add
- Save your changes
Notes
- In Method 1, classification changes apply to the selected policy only.
- Custom Website Categories can be reused across multiple policies, making them ideal for maintaining a consistent list of classified sites.
- Changes may take a few minutes to reflect in productivity reports.
