In addition to a System Health page in the Management Console, a System Alert watches disk space at the server and sends an alert when the disk is at 15% (or 5% for very large disk volumes) or closer to being full. Users of a SQL Server Express database receive an alert when any database (max size allowed on SQL Express is 9.6 GB) is within 15% of its capacity. The alert is sent automatically to any “operator” listed in Server Settings in the Management Console.
